We are following the cycle of the seasons.
Living on a farm means you naturally fall into the cycle of the seasons, especially when you live in the north with our shorter growing season and cold winters. Lambing in the spring on the farm means lamb at the market for winter. Dog treats and lamb sausage soon follow as we make efforts to let no part go to waste. Garlic and sunflowers make their appearance in August and September.

Seasonal eating means fresher, better tasting and more nutritious products for you. Food that is raised seasonally (and locally) is also more environmentally friendly as fewer resources are required when you work with nature’s cycles.
We are a small family farm creating by hand.
We are a small farm doing most things by hand so everything we do is in small quantities. A benefit of this approach is that we can create unique items while making sure that everything we produce meets our high standards. Small batches also result in limited stock, and our batches can sell out quickly (so if you like it, don’t wait!). Updates are announced by email first. Sign up for our email newsletter here.

Small batch also means small footprint. It considered a more sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to production because there is less waste and less demand on resources.
We are local makers using
local materials.
The majority of our products are from materials we grew on our farm! For example, our wool is born, shorn and processed 100% on our farm. When we do need to use other materials for things like packaging or clothing, we make it a priority to source materials locally or within Canada whenever possible. We also try to work with other local businesses and makers through our collaborations and partnerships.

Transparency is important to us. We include specific material and sourcing information on our product pages for everything we make.
We grow our products to meet our high standards.
This is true from our lamb to our wool to our garlic, and everything in between. We do not release anything that we haven’t used and vetted ourselves, and we continually strive to make sure our goods are of premium quality. We entered into farming to make sure that the food we were consuming was of the highest quality, and we are very focused on maintaining this priority and extending it to all the things that we make. This includes our wool, which when properly cared for can last generations. We also work with makers who are creating at this same level and can produce heirloom quality goods.
